FAQs for Applicants
Interested in joining the Hummingbird Care Services team? Here are answers to some of the most common questions about working with us.
Is this covered by Medicare?
No. Medicare does not cover non-medical in-home care. Our services are private-pay, but flexible and tailored to your needs.
Do you provide skilled nursing or medical services?
No. We specialize in non-medical care such as personal assistance, memory support, and companionship. For skilled nursing, we can help connect you with the right resources.
How do I get started?
It’s simple: call us or fill out a consultation form. We’ll schedule a free in-home assessment and create a personalized care plan for your family.
What if the caregiver isn’t a good fit?
We carefully match caregivers to your loved one’s personality and needs. If adjustments are needed, we’ll work with you to ensure the right match.
Do I need prior caregiving experience to apply?
Experience helps, but it’s not required. We provide training and mentorship to help you succeed, and every team member becomes dementia-certified.
What types of shifts are available?
We offer flexible scheduling — from a few hours a week to 24-hour shifts — so you can find the hours that best fit your lifestyle.
How does Hummingbird support its caregivers?
We provide ongoing training, direct support from leadership, and a positive, team-focused culture that values every caregiver.
Do you offer full-time positions with benefits?
Yes, many of our roles include full-time opportunities with competitive pay and benefits, depending on availability and experience.
